* Southwest Idaho BLM (ID Zones 400, 420, 423, 424, 426)... After
hot, dry weather this afternoon, a strong thunderstorm outflow
boundary is forecast to move across the NV/ID border this
evening around 6 PM MDT, northward through the Snake Basin 8-10
PM MDT, then into the forests north of the Snake Basin. Gusts 45
to 55 mph along with areas of blowing dust are forecast for
this evening, with local gusts up to 65 mph in zones 426 and
424. The winds should last no more than an hour or so at any
location. Saturday afternoon and evening will bring more
thunderstorms with highest chance for lightning across zone 426
and 424. Sunday should be breezy and cooler.
* Southwest Idaho Forest (ID Zones 401, 402, 403, 421)... After
hot, dry weather this afternoon, thunderstorm with are outflow
winds are possible late this evening: between 9 PM and midnight
MDT. Wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected. Isolated
thunderstorms Saturday morning will increase to scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and
evening bringing abundant lightning and brief heavy rain. A 20%
chance for wetting rains Saturday afternoon and evening. Sunday
should be breezy and cooler.
* Southeast Oregon (OR Zones 670-675)... Isolated showers and
thunderstorms this evening. Pre-frontal winds pick up on
Saturday with afternoon wind gusts up to 35 mph at the same time
RHs are 10-15%. Isolated thunderstorms are possible over
mountains and the ID border on Saturday. Storms that do develop
in this area will be fairly strong, capable of producing
lightning, outflow gusts up to 50 mph, and heavy rain. Mixing
heights around 11-13 kft AGL show unstable conditions even
outside of storms. A weak cold front will bring drier air to the
area on Sunday with breezy coniditions.
