.DISCUSSION...
Hot and dry conditions expected through early weekend, with
temperatures peaking around 100 on Saturday. Breezy northwesterly
winds this afternoon in the Baker Valley and Snake River Valley,
however not as strong as yesterday with gusts up to 25 mph between
1500 and 1900 MDT. Thunderstorms with little rainfall become
possible over SE OR and near the Nevada border late Saturday
afternoon and evening due to very hot, dry, and unstable
conditions. A significant pattern shift is then anticipated going
into Sunday, as monsoonal moisture pushes its way northward and
thunderstorms become wet and expand throughout the region on
Sunday. A slight cooling and moistening trend into next week with
thunderstorms continuing.
