Precipitation unlikely, though virga is possible at altitude in the band. The clouds slightly reduced our warming today, dropping the temperature forecast for the next few days. Either way, high pressure will continue to build and this weekend will still be hot and dry. High temps reach about 15 degrees above normal, with afternoon minimum RHs in the teens for valleys and low 20s for mountains. .LONG TERM...Monday through Friday... The upper level ridge axis will pass overhead Monday, allowing SW flow aloft to move into the area. Monday and Tuesday should be the hottest days at around 15 degrees above normal. There is a chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in SE Oregon Monday night. Tuesday and Tuesday night, with the SW flow well-established and a shortwave trough approaching, there is a better of showers and thunderstorms areawide. This chance extends into Wednesday mainly on the Idaho side as the shortwave moves through early in the day, and remains there Thursday and Friday. Models show another shortwave or two moving through Thursday and/or Friday, but confidence is not high concerning the timing. Temperatures will decrease after Tuesday, with readings around 10 degrees above normal Wed, then falling farther to just 2-4 degrees above normal Thursday and Friday. && .AVIATION...VFR.
