...River Statement For The Cahaba River At Marion Junction...

.Recent heavy rainfall is producing rises on the Cahaba River at
Marion Junction. However, levels are expected to remain below
established flood stages, and any overflow along the river should be
of minor nature.


The Cahaba River at Marion Junction.
* At 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 23.3 feet.
* Action stage is 15 feet.
* Flood stage is 36 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.4 feet
  early Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 36 feet...Flooding is confined mainly to farm and
  pasture lands in the area.


Another statement will be issued by Wednesday morning, or sooner if
conditions warrant.
