However, levels are expected to remain below established flood stages, and any overflow along the river should be of minor nature. The Alabama River at Selma. * At 8:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 37.5 feet. * Action stage is 30.0 feet. * Flood stage is 45.0 feet. * Forecast...The river is expected to fall below action stage on Sunday afternoon and then continue to fall to 23.5 feet by Thursday morning. * Impact...At 30.0 feet...Pasture lands below Selma become flooded. Another statement will be issued by Sunday morning, or sooner if conditions warrant. Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for later statements concerning this event. It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has already occurred and on additional rainfall expected during the next 48 hours.
