As of early this morning, the river point is very close to but just shy of action stage. Any overflow should be minor in nature and subside through the course of today and Saturday. A gradual fall will continue over the coming days. The Alabama River at Montgomery. * At 7:30 AM CST Friday the stage was 25.9 feet. * Action stage is 26.0 feet. * Flood stage is 35.0 feet. * Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 23.3 feet Wednesday morning. * Impact...At 26.0 feet...Some flooding of low lying areas and secondary roads begins in the Montgomery area. Flooding of the golf course at Maxwell Air Force Base and portions of River Road occurs at stages around 30 feet and higher. This is the final statement for this event. $$
