...River Statement For The Cahaba River...

.Rises continue along the Cahaba River drainage basin. However,
levels are expected to remain below established flood stages, and any
overflow along the river should be of minor nature.


The Cahaba River at Marion Junction.
* At 9:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 24.8 feet.
* Action stage is 15 feet.
* Flood stage is 36 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.4 feet
  this evening.
* Impact...At 15 feet...Flooding around Oakmulgee Creek begins and
  cattle need to be moved to higher ground. Overflow of pasture lands
  increases at stages above 20 feet.


Another statement will be issued by Thursday morning, or sooner if
conditions warrant.
