Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 458 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. - Some locations that will experience localized flooding include... Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer, Homewood, Pelham, Mountain Brook, Helena, Hueytown, Irondale, Leeds, Fairfield, Chelsea, Midfield, Brighton, Indian Springs Village, Lipscomb, Riverchase Galleria and Patton Creek. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
