.DISCUSSION...

Today will be another mild and dry day, with highs in the lower 60s
to lower 70s. Humidity is forecast to fall into the 25 to 35 percent
range across much of the area this afternoon. Winds will become
southeasterly today at only very light speeds in the James River
Valley, but steadily increasing westward to as high as 20 to 25 mph
along the Montana border.

It will remain breezy tonight across western North Dakota, then
become windier on Saturday and remain breezy across central North
Dakota Saturday night. The primary wind direction over this time
period will be south to southeast. Gusts as high as 30 to 40 mph are
possible Saturday afternoon, strongest in south central North
Dakota. There could also be some scattered showers Saturday through
Saturday night, with a few late night thunderstorms possible across
the west. Saturday will be warmer, but minimum humidity is also
forecast to be higher at around 40 to 60 percent.

A cold front will shift winds to the west/northwest on Sunday, with
gusts as high as 40 to 50 mph possible through the evening. Chances
for rain continue on Sunday, but are highest in the northwest where
some snow could mix in Sunday evening and night. Much cooler air is
expected behind the front, with widespread sub-freezing temperatures
possible Sunday and Monday nights.
