...ELEVATED RISK FOR FIRE SPREAD UNTIL THIS EVENING...

Recent dry weather with minimum relative humidity values between
25 and 35 percent this afternoon are expected. Dry fuels will
contribute to an elevated risk of fire spread for portions of the
Catskills. The worst combination of weather conditions will occur
this afternoon, with winds diminishing later in the afternoon.

Any outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Use extra caution if
handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery or
matches, and ensure to properly extinguish or dispose cigarette
butts. Please refer to the New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation web site for information on burn restrictions.

potential ignition sources, such as machinery or matches, and
ensure to properly extinguish or dispose cigarette butts. Refer to
