...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Iowa, including the following
  counties, Chickasaw and Howard.

* WHEN...Until 700 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
  remain closed due to flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 145 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported numerous
    flooded roads that have resulted in road closures in
    Chickasaw and Howard counties. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain
    has fallen over the past 24 hours.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Cresco, New Hampton, Elma, Lawler, Ionia, Protivin, Jerico,
    Chickasaw, Alta Vista, North Washington, Bassett, Highway 63
    And County B 22, Highway 63 And County B 33, Devon, Lourdes,
    New Hampton Airport, Jacksonville, County Roads B 28 And V
    18, Saude and Schley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
