The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an Air
Quality Advisory for the following counties: Ashland, Barron,
Bayfield, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Douglas, Dunn, Eau
Claire, Florence, Forest, Iron, Jackson, La Crosse, Langlade,
Lincoln, Marathon, Monroe, Oneida, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Price,
Rusk, Sawyer, St. Croix, Taylor, Trempealeau, Vernon, Vilas,
Washburn, Wood.

WHAT...The PM2.5 AQI is expected to reach the Unhealthy level.

WHERE...Northwest Wisconsin

WHEN...Midnight Monday night through noon on Tuesday

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:
Sensitive groups: Consider rescheduling or moving all activities
inside. Go inside if you have symptoms. People with asthma: Follow
your asthma action plan and keep quick-relief medicine handy.
People with heart disease: Symptoms such as palpitations,
shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious
problem. If you have any of these, contact your health care
provider. Everyone else: Keep outdoor activities shorter and less
intense. Go inside if you have symptoms.

Additional Details:
Heavy surface smoke will move into Wisconsin from the northwest
overnight Monday, likely reaching the MN/WI border between
midnight and 3 AM Tuesday. Unhealthy AQI PM2.5 is forecast, with
chances to see spikes in the Very Unhealthy AQI range. The front
will continue to slowly move from northwest to southeast
throughout the day on Tuesday, with smoke impacts eventually
becoming statewide. This advisory will be updated by noon Tuesday
to reflect the movement of the smoke into southeast Wisconsin. At
this time, we anticipate a statewide advisory for PM2.5 from noon
Tuesday until noon Wednesday.
