Developmental Probabilistic Snow Accumulation Forecast (APA)
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder, Colorado
2106 MDT Wednesday, April 02, 2025

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This developmental product contains the probabilities (%) that the given snow
amounts (inches) will occur at Centennial Airport during the respective
3 hour or 12 hour periods. The probabilities indicate the amount of snow that
is expected to accumulate on runways and other concrete surfaces at APA.
[T (trace) means more than zero.]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Discussion (02/21-04/00 MDT): Snow will develop in the area by 8-10 am Thursday,
with the main band of snow likely to move across the airport between 10 am and 3
pm, and then off and on showers will linger thereafter through Thursday
evening. There should be a break between midnight Thursday night and early Friday
morning, before the next round of light snow develops Friday mid morning. With
regard to accumulations, snowfall is expected to be light and temperatures h
olding just above freezing. Thus, accumulation on Thursday is expected to be
around an inch on the grass, but little to no impact on runways. At worst case,
there would be a brief period of heavier snow and brief slush on runways, but
that`s only about a 20% chance at this point. Similar chances for accumulation
can be expected Friday, although by Friday evening temperatures will be turning
colder allowing for a little higher chance of snow to accumulate on runways.
