.KEY MESSAGES...
Issued at 1126 PM CST Thu Nov 6 2025

Cooler temperatures are expected to surge into the combined
Panhandles as a cold front enters the area this weekend. Highs on
Sunday may struggle to exit the 40`s, while lows on Monday will be
in the 20`s.

.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Saturday night)
Issued at 1126 PM CST Thu Nov 6 2025

No major changes were made to the short term forecast. Generally
benign weather conditions are in place before our next big cold
front arrives Saturday afternoon/evening. Temperatures will be near
or above their seasonal averages across the CWA. Surface winds will
prevail from the north toady; but as a surface high traverses over
the High Plains this evening, winds will become light and variable.

Tomorrow, winds become strong out of the north once again as the
first shortwave of the cold airmass arrives in the afternoon. Sky
conditions should remain relatively unchanged as the front moves
through. Mostly sunny skies can be expected, with cirrus clouds
dominating the troposphere.

.LONG TERM...
(Sunday through next Thursday)
Issued at 1126 PM CST Thu Nov 6 2025

Sunday, models continue to settle in on lower overall temperature
for the day. Surface winds are forecast to flow from the north all
throughout the day as the cold airmass sits overhead. 40`s and 50`s
should be the range of high temperatures through the region. Lows
Monday morning should fall into the 20`s areawide. The southeast
Texas Panhandle is subject for another Freeze Watch, and given the
increasing likelihood of temperatures below 28 degrees, this will
likely be their killing freeze for vegetation.

After the passing of the large scale upper trough, temperatures next
week should gradually rise as high pressure builds back into the
CONUS. Long range models still convey some uncertainty concerning how
much heights will rise; and consequently, how much surface
temperatures could increase. At this time, highs Monday onward are
forecast to return to the 60`s and later 70`s during the day.
Overnight lows should also climb back into the 40`s.
