...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2
  inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Southern Herkimer County.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
  conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday
  evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Multiple lake effect snow bands will continue
  to affect the area this afternoon with reduced visibilities and
  localized snow rates briefly a half an inch to an inch an hour.
  Gusty winds will produce blowing snow. Some of the narrow snow
  bands may impact Interstate 90 before the bands drift north this
  evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.
