...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Areas of freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations
  around a light glaze.

* WHERE...Litchfield County in northwest Connecticut, southern
  Berkshire County in western Massachusetts, and the southeast
  Catskills, mid Hudson Valley and southern and central Taconics of
  eastern New York.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Very slippery sidewalks, roads
  and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact
  the Friday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of freezing rain will develop early
  this morning. Some untreated ground surfaces will remain icy even
  after temperatures rise above freezing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible
power outages.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

TO 3 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations up
  to one inch and ice accumulations around a light glaze.

* WHERE...Northern Berkshire County in western Massachusetts, and
  the Mohawk Valley, Capital Region, Saratoga region, and the
  central and northern Taconics of eastern New York.

* WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to 3 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the Friday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Spotty freezing rain, possibly mixed with
  snow, is expected to develop later this morning before becoming
  plain rain by mid afternoon. Some untreated ground surfaces will
  remain icy even after temperatures rise above freezing.
