...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN LITCHFIELD COUNTY
THROUGH 815 PM EDT...

At 743 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
New Preston, or 7 miles northeast of New Milford, moving southeast at
35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
New Milford, Thomaston, Litchfield, Oakville, New Preston, Woodbury
Center, Gaylordsville, Terryville, Watertown, Plymouth, Woodbury,
Bethlehem, Washington, Morris, Roxbury, Bridgewater, Bantam,
Hotchkissville, Haight Vineyard, and Reynolds Bridge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
northern Connecticut.
