Spot Forecast for F/V Arctic Sea Grounding...NOAA ERD
National Weather Service ANCHORAGE AK
133 PM AKDT Sat Jun 13 2026

Forecast is based on forecast start time of 1200 AKDT on June 16.

.DISCUSSION...

Expect northwest winds of around 10 kts to persist Tuesday and
Wednesday of next week. Wave heights will also remain in the 3 to
4 foot range. Expect little to no chance for precipitation for St.
George as a ridge of high pressure persists across much of the
Bering Sea. However, there is uncertainty with where low stratus
and potential visibility reductions from mist and or fog set up
associated with the ridge axis. Dutch Harbor will exhibit similar
conditions to St. George for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Looking forward to late week and next weekend, expect more of the
same weather pattern. However, seas look to be in the 2 to 3 foot
range. Confidence in wind direction decreases into the weekend
due to the orientation and positioning of the Bering ridge. Wind
speeds do not look overly strong though and should remain around
10 kts or even a little less. As with Tuesday and Wednesday,
expect little chance for precipitation late week and this upcoming
weekend. Dutch Harbor will exhibit similar conditions to St.
George for late week and this upcoming weekend.
