Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0730 AKDT on June 04.
.DISCUSSION...
Expect continued calm conditions over the next few days and into
the weekend for St. George. 10 to 15 kt winds will also keep a
northerly component today through Saturday before turning westerly
by Sunday. Wave heights will also remain in the 2 to 3 foot range
as well through the weekend. The main challenge will be monitoring
if any low stratus moves overhead.
Looking ahead into next week, high pressure across the Bering will
remain. This will generally keep the storm track farther to the
south in the North Pacific. Current indications are that winds
will remain around 10 kts with waves in the 2 to 4 foot range
through Thursday of next week.
For Unalaska, expect similar conditions to St. George through the
weekend into next week. The difference for Friday and Saturday
will be to expect more in the way of cloud cover as a weak front
lifts northward near the area. A stray shower or two may move over
Unalaska late Friday night into Saturday morning before the front
moves away. Another front may approach the area bringing rain
chances back for Wednesday of next week.
