...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM SUNDAY TO 10 PM AKDT
TUESDAY FOR KUSKOKWIM DELTA...

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Coastal
Flood Warning, which is in effect from 2 PM Sunday to 10 PM AKDT
Tuesday. The Coastal Flood Watch is no longer in effect.

* LOCATION...Kuskokwim Delta coast.

* COASTAL FLOODING...Water levels as high as 3 to 6 feet above
  normal highest tide are expected, with locally higher water
  levels possible.

* TIMING...Water levels will rise by Sunday afternoon and remain
  elevated through Tuesday afternoon/evening. The timing of peak
  water levels will vary by community, but many will see their
  highest water levels from Monday afternoon through early Tuesday
  morning.

* IMPACTS...This event could be similar to the August 17-18, 2024
  flood event. Southwesterly to westerly winds will cause higher
  seas and surf, contributing to erosion and flooding along the
  coast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A coastal flood warning means that flooding is occurring or
imminent. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert
for rising water, and take appropriate action to protect life and
property.

...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
TUESDAY EVENING FOR GOODNEWS BAY...

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Coastal
Flood Watch, which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through
Tuesday evening.

* LOCATION...Goodnews Bay and other communities west of Cape
  Newenham.

* COASTAL FLOODING...Water levels as high as 3 to 6 feet above
  normal highest tide are possible.

* TIMING...Water levels begin rising Sunday afternoon. While water
  levels will be elevated between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday
  evening, the worst conditions are expected from Monday night
  through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Southwesterly to westerly winds may cause higher seas
  and surf, contributing to erosion and flooding along the coast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A coastal flood watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings, and take action to
protect property.
