Fire Weather Planning Forecast For CEN/ERN VA...NE NC...MD ERN SHORE
National Weather Service WAKEFIELD VA
429 AM EDT Wed Mar 12 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Mainly dry conditions are expected through Saturday. A backdoor
cold front is expected to drop through the area today, though
there is some uncertainty on how far inland the front gets. Winds
are likely to shift to the north for most of the area in the
afternoon, with easterly winds developing along the coast. Minimum
relative humidity values range from 25-45% inland and 40-60%
closer to the coast, though these values are likely to increase
some behind the backdoor front later in the day. Min RHs not as
low Thursday and Friday, with cooler/ moister conditions again at
the immediate coast. The next chance for widespread rainfall is
not until Sunday.
