...The National Weather Service in Wakefield VA has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Virginia...

  Nottoway River At Rawlings affecting Greensville, Dinwiddie,
  Brunswick, Sussex and Nottoway Counties.

For the Chowan Basin...including Rawlings...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The next statement will be issued this afternoon at 515 PM EST.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM EARLY THIS MORNING TO LATE THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Nottoway River at Rawlings.

* WHEN...From early this morning to late this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, River comes out of its banks in the
  vicinity of the gage.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 4:50 AM EST Monday the stage was 10.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 4:50 AM EST Monday was 10.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.6
    feet late this morning. It will then fall below flood stage
    late this afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    10.1 feet on 04/10/2003.
