...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following
  counties and independent city, City of Newport News, James City
  and York.

* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Local
  emergency management have reported water rescues.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 854 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in
    the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or
    expected to begin shortly. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Newport News, Williamsburg, Virginia Institute For Marine
    Sciences, Gloucester Point, Grove, Lee Hall, Busch Gardens,
    Carver Gardens, York Terrace, U.s. Naval Weapons, Lackey,
    Water Country U.S.A., Newport News Golf Course and Yorktown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when
water begins rising.
