...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 AM EDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central and south central Virginia, including
  the following counties and independent cities, in central
  Virginia, Amelia, Chesterfield and City of Colonial Heights. In
  south central Virginia, Brunswick, City of Hopewell, City of
  Petersburg, Dinwiddie, Nottoway and Prince George.

* WHEN...Until 715 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 518 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
    has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Petersburg, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Colonial Heights,
    Blackstone, McKenney, Virginia State University, Chester,
    Fort Gregg-Adams, Prince George, Nottoway, Dewitt, Wilsons,
    Sutherland, Spainville, Fort Barfoot, Matoaca, Ettrick, Ford
    and Walkers.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
