...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR NORTH CENTRAL CHESTERFIELD AND CENTRAL HENRICO
COUNTIES AND THE CITY OF RICHMOND...

At 223 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5
inches in 30 minutes. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches
are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Richmond, Downtown Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University,
  University Of Richmond, Bon Air, Virginia Union University,
  Tuckahoe, Highland Springs, Bensley, Bellwood, Chesterfield Court
  House, East Highland Park, Drewrys Bluff, Richmond Heights and
  Montrose.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
