...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY
EVENING...
...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM WEDNESDAY TO 7 AM EDT
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip currents
  and large breaking waves in the surf zone. For the High Surf
  Advisory, large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet expected in the
  surf zone.

* WHERE...In Maryland, Maryland Beaches County. In North
  Carolina, Eastern Currituck County. In Virginia, Virginia
  Beach, and Accomack and Northampton Counties.

* WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, through Thursday
  evening. For the High Surf Advisory, from 1 PM Wednesday to 7
  AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Very dangerous swimming and surfing conditions are
  expected, as well as the wave action resulting in significant
  beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers
  away from shore into deeper water. Dangerous shore break can
  throw a swimmer or surfer head first into the bottom causing
  neck and back injuries.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
