083 WWAK47 PAJK 291452 WSWAJK URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Juneau AK 552 AM AKST Mon Dec 29 2025 ...SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN CONTINUE FOR THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE INTO MONDAY... .Snowfall and periods of freezing rain continue for much of the northern half of the panhandle from Juneau and Icy Strait corridor area northward. The rain snow line remains just south of the Icy Strait Corridor and Juneau. Snow totals have so far been around 15 to 40 inches across the northern panhandle. Some freezing rain has also been reported around Juneau, Gustavus and Yakutat. Through the day Monday, snowfall and freezing rain totals will diminish, but showers will continue to bring in additional periods of mixed precipitation, with heavier showers bringing more accumulating snow. Another surge of moisture may arrive Monday night, bringing more renewed snowfall rates with it. The rain/snow line wavers across the Icy Strait area through Tuesday. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 9 inches, with the higher totals out the road in Juneau, and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch. * WHERE...Glacier Bay and City and Borough of Juneau. * WHEN...Until 6 AM AKST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional accumulating snowfall totals will be highly variable. Expect less accumulating snow than in previous days across the area as precipitation becomes more convective in nature. The bulk of the additional snow accumulation will be where heavier showers move through, and out the road in Juneau. However, freezing rain will mix in at times on Monday throughout the area.
