* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, dangerously cold
  temperatures as low as 30 below. For the Extreme Cold Warning,
  extremely cold temperatures as low as 40 below expected.

* WHERE...Municipality of Skagway.

* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 6 PM AKST Friday.
  For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 6 PM Friday to 6 PM AKST
  Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to
  these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
  temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...These cold temperatures are expected
  because of the wind chill and not the ambient air temperature.

  PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Wear protective clothing such as a hat, face mask and heavy
gloves or mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in- ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
