The westerly winds around Cape Decision and Warren Island are being locally enhanced to 23 mph by a tip jet coming off of southern Baranof Island at the moment as seen at the Cape Decision observation. Those winds are expected to diminish to 10 mph by midnight as winds start to become more southwesterly late and then becoming Southerly by noon Wednesday. Seas are rather low in the area. Combined seas currently are around 4 ft with a 3 to 4 ft swell at 11 sec coming in from the SW. Those seas are expected to subside through the night. Aviation weather in the area is mostly VFR ceilings and vis, with some isolated areas of MVFR ceilings down to 2500 ft especially at Sitka and over eastern Baranof Island. More widespread MVFR ceilings down to 2000 ft possible overnight after 11pm as a lower level cloud deck develops.
