Spot Forecast for USCG Dixon Entrance And Western PoW Island...Coast Guard

.DISCUSSION...This forecast discussion will include  areas between
the Southern Dixon Entrance stretching North to Cape Decision. The
individual forecast point referenced is between Dall Island and
Forester Island.

A frontal band currently situated West of Haida Gwaii in a line moving N
along the outer coast, will advance through the panhandle by Friday
morning. Sustained winds through the evening hours will remain strong
breeze to near gale (22-33 kt). By late Thursday night, winds will begin
to diminish, becoming fresh breezes (17 to 21 kt) west of Prince of
Wales Island, although parts of the Dixon Entrance will continue to see
strong breezes (22 to 27 kt). On Friday, winds from the Dixon Entrance
to Cape Decision will largely remain moderate breezes(11 to 16 kt).

Waveheights of between 10 to 12 ft are expected Thursday evening,
slowly subsiding to 6 to 8 ft through Friday.

Flying weather: Ceilings largely between 1000 ft and 2500 feet. Winds
near 3000 feet indicate a low level jet of SSE winds 35 to 45 kt before
06z. Winds diminish to under 30 kt by 09z.
