For the most part, we had typical Southeast Alaska Autumn rainforest weather for the month of September. We had a some Atmospheric Rivers move over the area that, luckily, didn`t stick around for too long. Earlier on in the month, the northern Panhandle was more impacted by them. The moisture plumes that moved in during the last half of the month impacted the southern Panhandle more. September was a bit drier and warmer along the Outer Coast than the other portions of the Panhandle. As for precipitation, Juneau Airport was only 0.14 inches below normal. Sitka Airport was 1.84 inches below normal. Ketchikan Airport was only 0.6 inches below normal, and Yakutat Airport was 4 inches below normal for the month. As for temperatures, Juneau Airport was only 0.1 degrees above normal. Sitka Airport was 1.6 degrees above normal. Ketchikan Airport was only 0.4 degrees above normal, and Yakutat Airport was 1.3 degrees above normal for the month. Not that we really use the October through September Water Year in Alaska, but, interestingly, the Juneau Airport finished it as the 4th wettest with about 72 inches in total. Chambers $$
