Total snow accumulations between 8 and 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph over high terrain and 30 mph in valleys, strongest Saturday night and early Sunday morning. * WHERE...Central Interior, Chatanika River Valley, Eielson AFB and Salcha, Fairbanks Metro Area, Goldstream Valley and Nenana Hills, Nenana, Northern Denali Borough, Tanana Flats, Two Rivers, Upper Chena River Valley, and White Mountains and High Terrain South of the Yukon River. * WHEN...Until 9 PM AKST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The bulk of the snow will fall on Saturday, though there will be another round of light and fluffy snow on Sunday. 5 to 8 inches of snow is possible on Saturday with another 3 to 5 inches possible on Sunday. Snowfall will be widespread, though heavy snow showers embedded in the system may bring widely varying snow totals across short distances. Winds will be gusty Saturday night with gusts up to 40 mph in the high terrain around Fairbanks, and up to 30 mph in Fairbanks. Wind gusts as high as 50 mph are possible over Eagle Summit. An additional snow event is likely Tuesday night and Wednesday across the Interior. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
