.DISCUSSION...

Current SITREP:
On July 3rd the Quartz Creek RAWS (QRZA2) near the fire reported
a minimum RH of 37 percent, with max temperatures reaching into
the upper 70s to low 80s. Winds were largely out of the east-
northeast with a max gust of 38 mph. Current observations at
12:55pm July 4th highlight light southerly winds, with a
temperature of 74F and RH of 39 percent. FAA Web cameras at Teller
(PATE) show clear skies.

Forecast:
This afternoon expect southerly winds less than 15 mph becoming
northeast winds of 8 to 12 mph, with gusts reaching 15 to 20 mph.
Thinking these winds reach the fire sometime near 4 to 6pm.
Temperatures will reach near 80 with RH near 30 to 35 percent.
Breezy conditions persist for a few hours before becoming light
after midnight. Should see decent RH recovery above 70 percent
Saturday morning. Saturday northerly winds persist, likely near 10
to 15 mph. Temperatures will climb back into the 80s, with
similar RH values.

There is a possibility for thunderstorms near Koyuk. We don`t
have much confidence these storms will push farther west than
Koyuk.
