Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Interior Alaska

.DISCUSSION...
A warm front will begin to move through the Interior today. This
front will bring cooler temperatures, strong winds, and heavy rain.
Temperatures will remain in the low to mid 60s until Monday.
Minimum RH values will remain above 40 percent. As the front moves
across the Interior expect gusty southwesterly winds to accompany
it. The higher terrain will see the strongest winds, with wind
gusts up to 45 mph being possible. The valleys could still see
gusts up to 35 mph. These winds will weaken Sunday morning, but
will remain breezy in the higher terrain. The areas north and west
of Fairbanks will see a wide swath of 1"-2", with the White
Mountains seeing up to 3". The Upper Tanana Valley and Fortymile
country will remain relatively dry.
