.DISCUSSION...
A very cold polar low is bringing colder temperatures to the
Interior Thursday through the weekend along with isolated
thunderstorms, snow, rain, and gusty winds. Temperatures will cool
into the low to mid 50s with some areas in the 40s. These
temperatures are expected to persist through the weekend with the
coldest day being on Sunday as many spots struggle get out of the
40s. Minimum RH values will stay above 30% across the Interior
during this colder stretch. Expect breezy southwest/west winds
across much of the Interior Thursday and Friday afternoons.
Isolated wet thunderstorms Thursday afternoon will initiate in
the higher terrain of the Interior. These storms will move to the
northeast, so expect an isolated storm as far northeast as the
Yukon Flats. Isolated storms are possible Friday afternoon, mostly
in the Eastern Interior, then again on Saturday along the AlCan,
but this is a very slim chance. We`ll also have chances for snow
this weekend above 2000ft and wetting rains in the valleys from
downpours.
