.DISCUSSION...
Weak high pressure will continue over the Eastern Interior
Thursday, and will continue into the weekend. Bringing seasonal
temperatures, drying RHs, and isolated showers/thunderstorms.
Surface winds lose support from lack of momentum aloft, resulting
in light terrain driven winds across most of the Interior.
Temperatures will climb back into the 70s through the end of the
week, RH should generally remain above 35 percent. Thursday into
Friday we expect some cumulus cloud development over the mountains
and hills bringing chances of light showers, but expect 24 hour
amounts to remain near and/or below 0.10 inches. The boundary
layer doesn`t look the best for thunderstorms, but a few strikes
across the White Mountains are likely Friday afternoon. Highest
confidence for rain-showers/weak- thunderstorms is the White
Mountains south to the Alaska Range. The Yukon Flats will likely
remain wetting- rain free.
