.DISCUSSION...
Moderately warm weather will continue this evening ahead of an
intrusion of moisture on Saturday, which will yield widespread
rainfall for much of the Interior. Accumulations of 2 to 3 inches
are possible in remote parts of the White Mountains, with around
an inch in the Yukon Flats. The southeastern Interior, including
the southeastern Fortymile Country and the Alaska Highway
southeast of Delta Junction, will see much lower totals, with up
to a few tenths of an inch at Delta Junction tapering off to near
zero at Tok. As rain moves into the area Saturday, winds in the
Yukon Flats will increase to 15 to 20 mph. The White Mountains,
including Eagle Summit, may potentially seeing sustained winds of
30 to 40 mph, with higher gusts. In the driest areas southeast of
Delta Junction, highs will be in the upper 60s and low 70s
through mid- next week. Min RH values on Saturday in these areas
will be in the lower 40s and 30s, rising into the 40s and 50s
early next week as moister air moves in.
