.DISCUSSION...
A low pressure system over the Arctic Ocean continues to rotate
energy through northern and central Alaska. The west-southwest flow
has plenty of moisture in it. Breezy southwesterly winds will
continue on Tuesday. Cloudy skies...cooler temperatures...widespread
rain and high humidities will continue Tuesday and Wednesday
throughout the central and eastern Interior. The best chance for a
wetting rain in the Yukon Flats this week is tomorrow. Thursday
skies begin to clear as a ridge of high pressure builds over the
region. A warming and drying trend will develop Thursday into the
weekend. Temperatures should rise into the 70s again with decreasing
humidities. East-northeast winds will develop. Isolated showers or
thunderstorms will be possible again on Friday over the eastern
Alaska Range and Fortymile Country.
