.DISCUSSION...
Key Messages...
- Temperatures will likely remain around 60F or lower in the Eastern
Interior on Friday as showers make their way east. West of
Fairbanks, expect highs in the mid to upper 60s and min RHs in the
upper 40 to 50% range. Brief warming will occur with highs returning
to the 60s and 70s by Saturday and Sunday, before a cold front
arrives from the northwest on Sunday to knock temperatures back down
by the start of next week.
- Gusty northwest wind gusts peaking around 25 to 35 mph will
continue in the Upper Tanana and Yukon Valleys through Friday
afternoon before diminishing overnight.
- Relative humidity in the Central Interior and Yukon Flats will
drop to 40-45% on Friday. More noticeable drying occurs on Saturday
with min RHs as low as 35%.
- We are monitoring the potential for warmer and drier weather later
next week as there is a chance for ridging to build in. There is
high uncertainty in the pattern, but it is something we are aware of.
