.DISCUSSION...Thunderstorms have developed this afternoon from the White
Mountains north to near Bettles. Expect some more isolated thunderstorms to
develop across the Western Interior this afternoon. Over the next few days,
thunderstorms will be isolated with most activity driven by a very cold core
upper low over the Western Interior, though there will be a few storms over
the eastern Interior behind a decaying cold front. South winds through Alaska
Range passes diminish Wed AM, and RHs this afternoon are not expected to reach
critical levels along the north side of the Alaska Range where these south
winds are blowing. Temperatures fall through the rest of the week with increasing
chances for rain and even snow in the Brooks Range on Thursday.
