.DISCUSSION...
Key Messages...
- Friday, chances for wetting rains increase across much of the
Interior for areas south of Arctic Circle. With the exception of
the Upper Tanana. This trend will continue through much of the
weekend as a series of systems move east across the Interior.
- Thunderstorm chances expand across the Eastern Interior on
Friday, stretching from the Yukon Flats to the Upper Tanana.
Thunderstorm chances will remain over the eastern Yukon Flats on
Saturday as the systems push northeast.
- A brief increase in wind is possible across the Alaska Range and
the Upper Tanana Saturday afternoon with gusts between 15 and 20
mph possible.
- Max temperatures are expected to remain relatively consistent in
the mid to upper 60s, with a few spots possibly hitting 70. With
the influx of moisture, minimum RH values will be kept at or
above 35 percent through the end of the weekend.
- A cool and rainy pattern has the chance to set up by mid next
week which may help to keep fire weather concerns minimal.
