.DISCUSSION...
Wet conditions expected to continue into early next week as
multiple low pressure systems move through the Bering Sea east
into the mainland. Multiple waves of rainfall expected with high
chances of wetting rain. The highest chances are expected Sunday
where rain accumulations for that day of half an inch to an inch
are expected for much of the Interior. The Upper Tanana Valley
remains mostly dry despite this rainfall. Gusty southwesterly
winds expected to accompany the rain peaking Saturday afternoon
with gusts at higher elevations up to 35 mph possible. The rain
will keep temperatures slightly below normal with highs in the low
to mid 60s, except in the Upper Tanana Valley where temperatures
in the low to mid 70s are expected. No thunderstorms are being
forecasted, although there is still a very slight chance for one
or two extremely isolated storms forming east of Fairbanks Friday
afternoon. Minimum RH values stay high with the rain, except for
the Upper Tanana Valley where values in the 30s are expected
through the weekend.
