.DISCUSSION...
West-southwesterly flow continues to bring in waves of
precipitation and gusty winds across the Interior. A system will
track across the Northern Interior today, bringing some scattered
showers across the Yukon Flats through the late evening. Tuesday,
another system will move across the Eastern Interior from the
Yukon Flats to Fortymile Country with the best chance of wetting
rains to the east of Fairbanks. Temperatures across the Flats will
be in the mid to low 60s with minimum RHs between 50 and 60
percent.
Looking over the Tanana Valley, the southwesterly flow aloft will
become more prominent across the Alaska Range, today, providing
Chinooking conditions for the Upper Tanana with max temperatures
in the mid to upper 70s and min RHs around 30 percent. Meanwhile,
as these waves of Energy pass over the Alaska Range through
Tuesday afternoon, expect gusty winds around 40 to 45 mph through
Isabel pass and around 30 mph in Delta Junction.
