Key Messages...
- Warming and drying trend expected through the rest of week as
upper level ridging builds in over Southeast Alaska. Afternoon
highs reaching 80F or higher are possible going into the
weekend, especially over the Upper Tanana Valley and Yukon
Flats, with min RHs remaining dry between 30-40%.
- Winds will remain fairly light through the week with the
potential for some diurnally driven winds in the afternoons.
- Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon
to the west of Fairbanks, especially near Tanana, with coverage
shifting north Thursday afternoon into the higher terrain of the
Central Interior. Expect thunderstorm chances to continue into
the weekend as the upper level ridge gradually weakens.
