.DISCUSSION...
Key Messages...
- Warm and dry conditions continue going into the weekend with
widespread afternoon highs in the upper 70s/low 80s. A brief
period of cooler temperatures is expected Friday afternoon as
isolated to scattered showers move into the area.
- Expect isolated thunderstorms Thursday afternoon from the Upper
Koyukuk Valley north towards the Central Brooks Range. On Friday
afternoon, coverage shifts over the Central/Eastern Brooks
Range south towards the Western Alaska Range.
- Min RHs remain mainly between 30-40% across the Interior, with
an isolated chance for some 25-30% RHs across portions of the
Upper Tanana Valley.
- Mostly light and variable winds continue across the region with
occasional wind gusts around 15 to 20 mph possible. These
gustier winds are not expected to be widespread and will
therefore be hard to pinpoint their exact locations.
