.DISCUSSION...
Showery conditions expected today with isolated thunderstorms
possible across the Interior. These showery conditions move east
and reach the Eastern Interior Sunday with isolated thunderstorms
still possible, but all east of Fairbanks. Thunderstorms are
expected to be quite isolated as cooler, cloudier conditions today
and Sunday limit development. Winds generally out of the
southeast and below 15 mph, except in the Yukon Flats where higher
speeds up to 15 mph are possible. Temperatures fall with the
showery conditions into the mid 50s to lower 60s. Skies clear
somewhat Monday.
Late Tuesday another low on the West Coast begins moving east
bringing additional rain into the Interior. This will instead warm
temperatures as warmer, moist air is pulled with the low. These
rains are expected mostly Wednesday and Thursday with some
lingering Friday in the Eastern Interior. Thunderstorm activity is
expected to be extremely minimal with this next system with none
currently expected.
