.DISCUSSION...
Warmer and drier weather is expected across most of the Interior,
save from the Fortymile Uplands to the eastern Alaska Range, over
the next few days. Temperatures will warm from the 70s in most of
the low/valley locations on Sunday into the upper 70s or lower
80s by midweek. Relative humidity values during this time frame
will drop from the mid 30s into the low 30s and, in some cases,
upper 20s. Widely scattered thunderstorms will be possible Sunday
along the southern slopes of the Brooks Range, with isolated
thunderstorms in the Yukon Uplands, White Mountains, and along the
northern slopes of the Alaska Range. Isolated to scattered shower
chances will return to broader stretches of the Interior midweek,
with isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms possible among
them.
From the Fortymile Uplands south, including along the Alaska
Highway and especially southeast of Delta Junction, numerous
showers are expected for the next few days. Isolated to widely
scattered thunderstorms will be possible among these showers,
especially in the higher terrain. A warming trend from the low to
upper 70s is still expected in valley locations, e.g. along the
Alaska Highway, but min RH values will be higher in any areas that
have recently received rainfall. Drier conditions are expected in
these areas from Monday night onward.
