...FLOOD WATCH FOR AN ICE JAM WILL EXPIRE AT NOON AKDT TODAY...

The river gauge along the Tanana River at Manley Hot Springs peaked
at minor flood stage at 15.52 feet yesterday at 8:50 PM AKDT Friday
May 8th 2026. Following this peak, water levels have begun to drop
down to action stage and are expected to continue to remain below
minor flood levels. As a result, the flooding threat for Manley Hot
Springs has ended. Therefore, the Flood Watch will expire at noon

* WHERE...Kuskokwim River near McGrath.

* WHEN...Through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...An ice jam at McGrath could lead to possible flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - An ice jam continues on the Kuskokwim River near McGrath with
    water levels slowly rising. Public reports of minor flooding
    in low lying areas on the upriver side of McGrath have been
    observed where a large sheet of ice has jammed.
