...ELEVATED WATER LEVELS FOR KUSKOKWIM RIVER AND KUSKOKWIM DELTA
COAST THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

UPDATE: Based on forecast winds and water levels, flooding continues
to look very unlikely along Kuskokwim River and the coast. However,
higher water levels and winds gusting up to 30 to 45 mph may still
impact activities along the water.

For communities along Kuskokwim River (Tuntutuliak):
* Gusty winds and storm surge pushing up the river will likely cause
  water levels to reach bankfull.
* Flooding will be very unlikely as high water currently in McGrath
  and Crooked Creek is now forecast to arrive in the lower Kuskokwim
  River after the storm surge has subsided.
* Timing: Water levels will be highest during high tide, which will
  be from around 11 AM through 3 PM on Friday.

For communities along the coast (Kongiganak, Kwigillingok, Kipnuk,
Toksook Bay, Tununak):
* Though there will be gusty onshore winds and storm surge, water
  levels will very likely remain below 1 to 2 feet above the normal
  highest tide, with no flooding expected.
* Timing: Water levels will be highest during high tide on Friday,
  from about 10 AM through 2 PM. Communities further north (like
  Toksook Bay and Tununak) may see higher water levels during
  Thursday nights high tide as well, from about 10 PM through 2 AM.

Next steps:
* Use caution along Kuskokwim River and along the coast, and plan for
  higher than normal water levels.
