...SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL IS STILL POSSIBLE FOR THE COPPER RIVER BASIN
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

A potent storm system brought widespread rain to the Copper River
Basin with additional rain possible into tonight. Rainfall should
slowly taper off through Thursday morning. 1 to 3 inches of total
rain is possible across portions of the basin, with the highest
amounts likely along the Wrangell and Chugach Mountains, including
locations along the Tok Cutoff, Nabesna Road, Edgerton Highway, and
McCarthy Road.

Many small streams may rise significantly with the potential for
some overbank flooding on Wednesday. Ponding of water on roadways
and erosion of unpaved surfaces is also possible.

Residents along area streams as well as river users should
anticipate higher than normal water levels and are advised to
monitor the situation.

Reports on river conditions may be sent to the river forecast center
by calling 1-800-847-1739.
