...RESUSPENDED ASH FROM KATMAI-NOVARUPTA OVER KODIAK ISLAND
THROUGH SUNDAY...

Strong northwesterly winds up to 45 mph continue to resuspend ash
from the 1912 Katmai-Novarupta eruption across Shelikof Strait.
Communities on southern Kodiak Island, including Karluk and Larsen
Bay, will observe reduced visibility as a result of the ash.

Those with respiratory ailments in these areas are encouraged to
avoid or reduce outdoor activity to avoid inhaling the ash. Winds
will gradually diminish through Sunday night, which should allow
ash impacts to cease sometime on Sunday.
