Forecast is based on forecast start time of 1400 AKDT on June 06.
.DISCUSSION...

A band of scattered showers has developed along the western facing
foothills of the Talkeetna Range this afternoon, east of the
forecast area, with a second band over Trapper Creek. Both bands
are moving north-northeast with the potential for showers to move
over the forecast area between 2 PM and 10 PM today. While an
isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out, it is more likely that
any showers in this area will only produce brief heavy rain and
gusty winds, with lightning less likely. The shower activity is
expected to wind down and move north by tonight. South-southwest
winds around 10 mph with occasional higher gusts late this
afternoon through late evening will quickly diminish overnight,
becoming light and variable. These winds will then shift and
become north- northeasterly by early to mid morning Saturday. Rain
will also develop over the area beginning between 10 am and noon.
The rain will become steadier through the day with cloud heights
lowering to around 2,500 ft.
